The Carnet de Passage system allows travelers/ tourists to move through countries driving their own vehicles. Such vehicles are allowed to enter the traveling country on temporary importation facilities without payment of any duty and taxes.
Travelers / tourists will have to carry a Carnet issued by the competent authority from their home country. This facility has been enabled under the 1954 UN Convention titled “Customs Convention on the Temporary Importation of Private Road Vehicles”. Bangladesh has not been a signatory to the said convention.
